The API returned three documents with URLs, full extracted content, and publication timestamps, totaling 32,465 content characters. The subject matter was relevant: one result covered Visa Intelligent Commerce Connect and the others covered Fastly’s analysis of agentic-commerce protocols and edge security. The problem was result diversity. Two of the three slots were the same Fastly article at different locale URLs, with identical 14,795-character English content. That means a third of the paid result set added no new information and an agent would need URL/content deduplication.
